Please Don't Make Me Go Back!!!
Both studying for the GRE and actually taking it brought back some bad memories... Memories of how I felt when studying in high school... memories of the fear I felt when taking tests in high school... the dread... the tears... the inability to show how great I can be!! All the things I have enjoyed NOT having experienced in over four years reappeared in just one short week. But the test is over. After some time to let it soak in, and talking to my family and friend Cecilia... I'm calm, and think it's over. No more of that feeling, ever again. Now I just hope that some grad school takes me, and saves me from having to go back!

The Inevitable...
I will be taking the GRE 5 short mornings from now. It's going to happen... I have to take the test. Now, the test is not only designed to make you worry throughout (crap, I don't know this question... crap, I must have missed the last question because I know this one... etc etc) ... but I have enjoyed in the past few weeks hearing teachers talk about how the GRE is the most important test you will ever take. Yes, I know that if I do terrible I may never get into graduate school... but in reality, I work my butt off so hard for everything else I feel that people wouldn't not take me because I don't know words that I have never heard and never will use. Sorry... this turned into a rant about the GRE, that was not my intention. Basically... I don't understand why teachers have to tell you how important this test is. Granted, in context they are just talking about the purpose of standardized tests... but I still don't like it! Studying for this test is basically impossible, but I go about it anyhow.
Now time for bed... getting up in the morning to take a practice test... Wish me luck!

Quick Update
This is going to be really quick, Bad Week #2 is about to start! :)
I scheduled the GRE this past Monday, for Monday, October 29! So I'm studying like mad to improve technique taking that test... I think everything about the design of that test is to go against anything you may have EVER learned in school. It tests everything you DON'T do! But alas... I will study and do my best.
I have another Neuroscience quiz Monday. I have another paper due Wednesday. I have another take home quiz due Monday... and I'm betting there will be a pop quiz in my other class on Tuesday or Thursday.
I'm SUPER excited that I get to see my cousin Beth Sunday. It has been WAY too long. I wish she was coming the following weekend so we could spend more time together, but I will take a couple hours off from studying to see her! We used to see eachother at the LEAST for one week a year... and I can't remember how long it's been now since I've seen her. 2 years? more?
The good news... I don't have to go in to work this week! Rob is going to be at a conference in San Diego! What great timing.
So wish me luck!! I'm REALLY going to need it!

Worst Week of the Quarter
WOW! I just finished the worst week of this quarter, and one of the worst of the year. Here's the deal... I like to do my best, all the time. Now that I actually can, I thrive to truly shine. But this week was the first time I just couldn't keep up the pace. Individually each class was fine, but together was too much. This was the first week ever that I actually did not have the time to study for it all. It's the first time I didn't get to something in time! Fortunately, that teacher ended up not even counting the assignment I didn't get to... but still, it was rough. I would give you an overview of everything I had to do, but that wouldn't be nice. But 1 week to find sources and write an 8 page paper, just isn't quite enough... And giving a midterm over stuff you covered 2 days before hand, well... that's just not nice! The midterm I had today, about half of the test was over material he covered in class on Tuesday! I think that's a bit ridiculous. I think I did ok, but still!
So now I have time to breathe. This weekend I get to study more for the GRE, and think again about my thesis... What's sad is that's going to be more relaxing!

Siiiiiick
Just a quick post before I leave for work this morning (yes it IS too early to be blogging)
I caught Liz's cold... While I would love to blame my sickness on too much reading, you must admit, when your roommate gets pink eye AND an upper-respiratory infection 5 days before your throat is on fire and your nose is unable to be emptied, it's fairly obvious where it came from. Which sucks because we both tried so hard for me not to get it! She cleaned things, we both washed our hands a lot. Boooo. So now I'm sick, feeling like crap... and all my body wants to do is sleep! I'm praying it doesn't turn into an upper-resp. infection, because I can't take meds to make it go away. So I'm off to my cure of saline nose spray and vitamin-C drops. WHooo hoooo...
