Alright. So I didn't keep the promise. Not even close. To be honest, I thought it may give me motivation to write the posting about my Vegas trip. But thinking about it, with all the reading and writing I have for this quarter I think another LONG assignment is just too much. So I'll stick to the little ones. And when I have time I'll do the Vegas update. Or maybe I'll start it slowly and then when I'm done publish it on the blog. At any rate... I appologize to all those who haven't seen my Vegas pictures. And I may be a slacker/loser/ bad blogger... but this isn't my priority. Half of the time it's just my way to cheer up or get away. So how about some life updates?
My time this quarter has been spent well. I sent in 7 applications. 3 for summer funding to get paid to do research. And 4 for funding for either me or my project. I won't be able to say it was an entire loss. I heard back from the last application I sent in, and they awarded me a $230 research grant. With that I'm allowed to purchase a flash drive for the project, print all my surveys, and even present my research at a conference. Pretty sweet. Now I just have to hope to get money that can go into my bank account. I'm getting anxious about the others. I hear back from 1 on May 1st, 2 on May 4th, 1 on May15th, and I don't know about the other 2. My chances aren't fantastic, but I'm hopeful. For 2 of them I can reapply in the autumn if I didn't get funding this time around.
I've had 2 midterms. I did AWESOME on my Mol Gen midterm. My second is in a week!! So next week I'll be studying a BUNCH. My Anthro midterm I felt really good about, so we'll just have to see.
I also had a presentation in my developmental psych class. Apparently it went really well. My teacher (who is a full professor) gave me some really large complements. Not only did she think I did a good job presenting, she basically said I have a strong personality and will go far in life. She offered to write a recomendation for me, and even suggested if I ever needed a job to contact her. Talk about a pick-me-up! It made me feel so good. It has taken me so long, but I think after 4 years I am starting to really believe in myself. I now know that when I work hard I can actually DO WELL. Thank you ODS! I'm glad I present myself in a way that shows my character, it gives me hope for interviews next year!!
This quarter Leah and I have been working about after class. We started off really strong, but some days we just have to much to do. And some days we understand we just have to study. It's been nice getting to hang out with her. On Fridays we even carpool!
Last night the guys all went to a concert... I think it was a symphony performing all video game songs. So the girls (Leah and Cecilia) came over. We had some pizza and chatted. It was really nice. We were also going to watch Grey's Anatomy, but instead for 40 minutes they gave us updates about a tornado warning/watch in 2 counties south of us that I had never heard of!
This weekend I've got lots of studying to do! Research proposals involve a lot of background reading, but the hardest part has to be finding the articles to read! Other than that I'm not sure what I'm doing.

I can show you how to find articles, A. It's my specialty. Come to the library and I will teach you. If you get a library card you'll have access to all the resources from your computer. Plus, I can show you how to use the college resources online that you have access to with your student ID. It would be fun (for me).
Thanks for the update. Nice to know you are still around. Keep working hard and let us know if you hear anything. Love ya, Mom
