Lessons in Banking

So the rest of my week went well. I figured out what a few things from my banking statement meant. I was wondering why my account said "reimbursment check" and I had a deduct for it. When I asked at the bank, they said it was because one of the checks I deposited bounced. Ouch, unfortunately friends of ours moved out of the country around the same time as my birthday. So what was a 30$ gift, turned out to actually charge me 8$. Hmm... that's interesting.

Later in the week Mark told me he was going to the Mol Gen Club meeting. I thought it would be fun, so I went with him. Found out that I had missed a woman talk about Genetic Counceling the week before. But they're going to get me her information so I can contact her. It was nice talking to researchers, and talking to other students.

On a separate note... I am excited about tonight. It's a Molecular Genetics researcher's mixer... and it's at a bar. I found out yesterday I may very well be the ONLY undergraduate at the mixer. But it makes me feel good that I was invited! Mark and Heather (the two other undergrads in our lab were invited, but couldn't accept because they aren't 21). Our lab is awesome, we get along really well, and try to help eachother out. It's a great atmosphere.

1st--- I'd like to comment on how I wrote my comment at 6:30 tonight, and it registered it as 3:30 (my computer is really messed up!!)

Kate- I attemtped cowgirl... but didn't have the country hat, so I went as someone wearing something I wouldn't in the lab... haha knee length boots, to the knee skirt, and black wrap around longsleeve top. Lots of people dressed up, just no one from our lab!

LAME-o costume, little sis. I am proud that I'm not the only Borchers who didn't get the creative dress-up gene. Your kids will be as pitifully dressed up as Andrew some day :) It's just too hard to compete with our big sissy ;)
